What to expect?

Visit Los Haitises National Park with a wonderful lunch on Cayo Levantado island and swim on the beach. Starting from the port of Samaná aboard a boat or catamaran with a local tour guide, we pass the bay of Samaná towards the Sabana de la Mar side to visit one of the most beautiful national parks in the Dominican Republic. The tour, organized by “Booking Adventures”, begins at the established meeting point with the tour guide. Come with Booking Adventures and start seeing some bird-filled mangroves, rolling hills of lush vegetation and caves of Los Haitises National Park. Visiting the island with birds around. In the nesting season, we can even see Pelican chicks in the nests. Go further into the Rocky Islands and visit the caves with pictographs and petroglyphs of the indigenous people.

Through mangroves and land into the open San Lorenzo Bay, from where you can photograph the rugged forest landscape. Look out into the water to see manatees, crustaceans and dolphins.

The name of the national park comes from its original inhabitants, the Taino Indians. In their language, “Haitises” translates as highlands or hills, a reference to the coast's steep limestone geological formations. Venture into the park to explore caves such as Cueva de la Arena and Cueva de la Línea.

The caves in the reserve were used as a refuge by the Taíno Indians and, later, to hide pirates. Look for drawings of Indians decorating some of the walls. After visiting the Los Haitises National Park, we will return to the port of Samaná passing the bay of Samaná for 30 minutes and visiting the island of Bacardi. We will have a typical lunch on the island. If you're vegan, don't worry, we have food for you too!

After swimming all afternoon and relaxing on the beach, our tour guide will set the time to return to the port of Samaná.
